Mr. Steven A. Poynter, age 63, of Beattyville, Kentucky, formerly of Cave City, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Lee County Care and Rehabilitation Center. Steven was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on September 1, 1962, a son of the late William and Lydia (Doyle) Poynter.  He was a 1981 graduate of Caverna High School, an avid UK fan, and enjoyed watching baseball. 

Steven is survived by his brother, Billy Joe Poynter, one niece, Denise Poynter Clark and husband Kevin, one nephew, Chuck Poynter, one aunt, Marie Coats, and a host of extended family.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wayne Poynter, and his grandparents, Charlie and Ruby Poynter, Lum and Sadie Monroe Doyle. 

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Poynter-Hatcher Cemetery in Cave City, Kentucky with Bro. Walter Decker officiating the service

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City. 

Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Poynter and his family at this time.
