Mrs. Edith Marie (Blair) Poynter, age 83, of Cave City passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was born in Cave City on March 27, 1938, a daughter of the late Albro Taylor, and Veda Mae (Barnes) Blair. She married James Harold Poynter on October 8, 1954, He preceded her in death on July 19, 1995.
She is survived by one son, James Robert Poynter, and his wife Teri; two grandsons, James Robert “Bob” Poynter II, and Jessie Allen Poynter, and his wife Ellen all of Cave City; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Cade, and Ava Poynter, two sisters; Betsy Waddell, and Teresa Jean Owens and her husband Steve. Several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends also survive.
 
Other than her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Larry Wayne Poynter, three sisters, and four brothers.
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 23, 2022, from The Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Bro Kevin Coomer, and Bro. B.C. McCandless will officiate the service.
 
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, after 4:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning after 9:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00 p.m.
 
Pallbearers: Bob Poynter, Jessie Poynter, Steve Owens, Greg Spann, Thomas McCubbins, and Danny Crain.
 
Honorary Pallbearers: Clinton McCandless, Jimmy Wilson, Billy Joe, Terry, and Roger Dale Huff, Timmy and Shannon Waddell, James Glen, Jonathan, and Andy Blair, Justin Spann, and Phillip Crain.
 
Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Edith Marie Poynter.
