Mr. Bobby Gaston Brown, 75, of Cave City, Kentucky, formerly of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, after a long illness. Bobby was born on January 2, 1951, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Gaston Franklin “Hoover” and Mary Louise (Sandrell) Brown.
Bobby was a native of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee where he worked at local dealerships, Chrysler Country and Lawrenceburg Chrysler as a new and used car salesman. He knew cars, inside and out. At the age of forty, he moved, with his wife, Lynne to Memphis, and a few years later to Cave City, Kentucky where he built and managed a successful GM Dealership, Cave City Chevrolet for long time Lawrence County resident Donald Massey and his partner, Arnold Palmer. After moving to Cave City, he and Lynne bought a farm and became cattle farmers, Border Collie breeders, and raised chickens. After retiring, Bobby spent a lot of time on his boat at Barren River Lake, and fishing soon became his favorite hobby with longtime brother and friend, Dr. James P. “Doc” Crews. During this time, he repented his sins to Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, was baptized and became a trustee in the church. He enjoyed farming and fishing as much as he could. Bobby honorably served his Country in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Lynne Lambert Brown of Cave City, daughters, Kimerly Brown Gowen and Chris, of Bowling Green, Carla Murdock Vibbert and Seth of Gallatin, Ashley Smith Mouldon and Michael of Cave City. Three granddaughters, Taylor Gowen Flint and Tyler of Ashland City, Kadie Marie Gowen and Tyler Bush of Glasgow, Anna Curd Phelps and Dylan of Gallatin, one grandson, Aidan Curd and Taylor of Gallatin, along with several aunts, cousins, and great-grandchildren also survive. Also, his good friend and fishing partner, Ryan Broers and his honorary son, Richie Gamel.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one daughter, Kari Melissa Brown, his maternal grandparents; Mary and Ben Sandrell and paternal grandparents; Carrie Lee and William Brown along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with full military honors being provided by the VFW. Pastor Ryan Broers will officiate the service.
Pallbearers: Chris Gowen, Tyler Flint, Kevin Bedford, Seth Vibbert, Dylan Phelps, and Aidan Curd.
